Road appears to be repaired however the barricade still blocks the road at the Iron Peak trailhead adding a mile to get to the Esmeralda Basin Trailhead. Snow free up to about 5,700' where a few patches of snow cover the trail up to the pass. On the other side of the pass snow completely covers the trail but is thinning out and there is a hazard of punching though in some places especially stream crossings. We brought crampons for the ascent to the base of the climb however did not use them due to the snow being soft with the warm conditions from the weekend. The route is in good shape. Plenty of anchors on route. It's recommended for the descent to do a single rap off the summit to the bolts as many group doing a double off the summit have difficulties pulling the rope. Once at the bolts, two double rope raps will take you back down to the snowfield at very bottom past the scramble.
We started at 6:30 AM and returned to the cars a little less than 15 hours later. Weather was good for most of the day except for a little wind and a little mist on the way up the rock. That soon broke and we spend a majority of the afternoon under warm blue sky.
