Basic Alpine Climb - The Tooth/South Face

Hiked up to the Tooth on mostly snow past the lake. Climbed the four pitches of the Tooth and rappelled down Pineapple Pass.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Traveled on snow from the lake up to Pineapple Pass. Early morning, crampons would still be helpful. (we did not bring them but they would have made travel easier in some parts where the snow was more frozen). Ice axes were still necessary as the snow was still very much present. It is melting out, which meant we had to watch for punching through. The day started with rain, but by the time we got set up for the climb, the rock had dried out and we were able to get a bit of sun as we topped out.
