Basic Glacier Climb - Mount Baker/Coleman Glacier

Snow began on the Heliotrope Ridge trail near the old Kulshan Cabin site.  The gully at the first creek crossing past the cabin site was snowed in, and most people seemed to be taking it to the hogsback.  No open crevasses along the "high route" to the Black Buttes, and no issues following the boot pack all the way to the summit.  The large crevasse at around 8800' was well covered, but a snow bridge was starting to take shape, and this will become a major obstacle when it thins.  Some post-holing in the afternoons, but not so much as to greatly slow us down.
