CHS 1 Hike - Granite Creek Trail

A wet day by a beautiful creek

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Trail is in good shape with some blowdown that was easily stepped over or under. Muddy due to weather. The small creeks that cross the trail before the lake are running high. There is one just before the lake that runs over the top of most boots - water shoes advised.

The  morning was non stop rain. The creek is beautiful. We easily overcame all obstacles until just before the lakes. We hadn't brought water shoes and that creek was running too high. We turned back and went a way up the trail to Thompson Lake and turned around. The sun finely came out and we found a spot for lunch.
