Patchy snow until about 1,800' and donned micro-spikes for the mostly packed snow with bare patches after that. Much of the recent snow had melted since yesterday and the Balcony rocks were almost completely bare.
We started out at 9:11 and arrived at the Balcony at 11:11. No other hikers on the trail, just us! We were all pleasantly surprised at our luck with no rain and not even a snowflake. Nice views from the cliffs and the Balcony. It was pretty windy outside the trees, but mild temps probably in the low 50's. We had a nice 15 minute snack break and took photos at the top then headed down. No rain all the way back to the cars, but a rainy drive home. Overall an enjoyable, successful hike with six of Olympia's Conditioning Hiking Series students!
