Trip started at Interpretive trail at Carbon River entrance, then uphill toward Alki Crest. At 1.8 miles uncounted a waterfall over the trail, with sketchy trail route through the water. Decided to turn around and hiked back down to trail head. Group then hiked into Mt. Rainier NP along old Carbon River road. Had lunch and returned.
