Westside Road clear and dusty. Parked car at trailhead and hike up road. Road is being well maintained. found entrance to Lake George trail and took it. Stopped briefly at Lake George before proceeding to Gobblers Knob. Buggy on trail near the spur intersection as we paused. Deer flies and mosquitoes mainly. continued on up to lookout, bugs stayed behind. Had lunch and returned to car, bugs seemingly less intense as we passed by downhill without stopping.
Westside road to trailhead in good shape, if dusty. Plenty of wildflowers on spur trail to Knob, saw first Tiger Lilies and Red Columbine beside the trail. Long hike, long time.
