Day Hike - Lake Valhalla

We hiked to Lake Valhalla on the PCT.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

We hiked to Lake Valhalla on the PCT from Stevens Pass.

We left the Monroe P&R at 7:10 AM. We stopped at the Skykomish Ranger Station. We arrived at the trailhead at 8:30 AM. Total time on the trail was 7 hrs 45 minutes, which included lengthly stops at the meadows, and one hour at the lake for lunch.

The sun was shining, the sky was blue. The fall colors were absolutely breathtaking. It was worth taking the PCT route to see the meadows. The closer we got to the lake the more the colors came out. There were huckleberries along the upper part of the trail. We passed a couple of thru hikers on their way to Canada. The hike was perfect, an absolute must hike again when the fall colors are out.
