Day Hike - Melakwa Lake

Two beautiful alpine lakes on a beautiful day. Fall color has begun.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

  • There have been improvements to the trail including a new bridge over  Denny Creek (above Keekwulee Falls - not at the waterslide). Streamflow and lake level were the lowest I have ever seen. So we didn't need the bridge. The new enlarged parking lot adds 1 easy mile to the original hike lent.

It was a beautiful day. The new parking lot has greatly expanded capacity.  We needn't have been there right at 7:30 am, but cars were coming in fast as we hiked out. Fall color is good and more is coming.
