Day Hike - Millersylvania State Park
This unexpected nice local hike was welcome after a slippery attempt at driving this morning to the Dirty Harry's Balcony trailhead from Olympia!

The park is only 12 miles south of Olympia and has an extensive network of trails that offer a variety of mileage options. Not much uphill, but we did pile up a whopping 533' gain and over 8 miles by exploring different sections! There are a few mud holes that are easy to get around, otherwise they are well maintained and traveled paths. Saw only one other hiker our entire four hours out.
It's a pleasant, peaceful area that's worth a visit or two or more. There is also a campground with shower facilities and a lake beach for swimming. It has abundant green growth, and seasonal flowers, berries, birds, and other wild critters besides people. I'll visit Dirty Harry another time!
