Day Hike - Monte Cristo
We attempted to hike into Monte Cristo. We turned around due to a slippery log crossing.

The log crossing is about 1 1/4 miles from the trailhead. The trail was in great condition until you reach the log crossing over the river. If the log had been dry, we would have continued. Since it had been pouring, the log was wet, and the possibility of rising water over the log on the way out we turned around. We hiked to the Ice Caves instead.
