The gate to the trailhead is closed for the winter. Parking room at the gate for about ten cars, but get there early on a nice day or you'll have to park along the road. The trail was in excellent condition.
A blue sky chilly day on Walker! Lots more snow than anticipated, and we donned microspikes about halfway up. The entire trail was well tracked, but was pretty slick so spikes helped especially on the way down. Nice views of the Olympics from the north summit and views of Hood Canal from the south summit. We could also see the skyscrapers of Seattle.
Over a foot of snow at the summit, surprising at this time of year! We all opted for just the one trip up since it was pretty cold and the days are short. Overall, a good day out!
