Routefinding is easy as the Olympic Discovery Trail is well-marked and -signed, but it pays to study the maps so you can anticipate turns.
Our mighty group of three met up at the Jamestown S'kallam Tribe Community Center in Blyn and dropped one car at our final destination -- the new-ish Dungeness River Nature Center in Sequim -- then drove back to Blyn to start the one-way trip. We hiked about 10 miles of the 40+ paved miles of the 130-mile Olympic Discovery Trail, with nominal gain. Along the way we admired Sequim Bay State Park, the salmon habitat restoration project at Johnson Creek, Carrie Blake Park and the adjacent playfields (huge!), and the railroad bridge high above the Dungeness River.
