Day Hike - University of Washington & Union Bay Natural Area

Another grand stairways walk including the "stairs to nowhere" on the UW campus.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

  • Tiny bit damp in the Union Bay Natural Area, otherwise fine.

Full roster of a dozen including many returnees for our 15th Seattle Stairways Walk since January.  Light rain for the second half but not an issue for the experienced walkers -- the entire crew.  We posed for photos in the Columns Amphitheatre and on those stairs to nowhere beside the Architecture Building.  Paused for a comfort stop and "seconds" cruise in the U Bookstore.  Two and a half hours without any rushing -- lots of time to look and natter.  We drew curious stares from the locals when the headlamps went on for the last hour.
