Devils Peak/South Ridge

Attempted the climb on 5/8/2016. We headed up the abandon road in a light drizzle which came and when all day. Left the road at the 3rd switchback. We follow the stream going left we needed. There is some pink ribbons which gave hints of the route (some good some bad). So after several changes in route due to cliffs and other concerns we reach Devil basin in about 3+ hours. Note, there was lots of brush all of it wet, we did not find much snow until we got to the basin. From the basin we probe upward into the clouds towards Devils peak but ran into cliffs and more wet brush. At this point I decided to call it a day and we had lunch at the Devil’s Lake.
