Intermediate Snowshoe - Amabilis Mountain
beautiful day- groomed trails until the very end made this long snowshoe route doable on a short day

trails were freshly groomed and snow was perfect consistency. no good opportunities to take shortcuts thru the trees as the slopes were steep and snow was fresh and deep. A few others on the trail, but not busy.
Arrived at snopark at 8am, short lunch break at top, and got back to cars at 4. Party of 5 and worked at a moderate pace.
No good shortcuts thru the trees to cut down on the distance-Looks like some could be done near around the summit area -more just for fun-but didn't have time and this route is 12 miles roundtrip (not 8 miles if you see it advertised that way). Made it a lollipop loop -which is recommended as the trees and views are different.
No noteworthy hazards except cornice at the true summit. Better views to be had on the trail to the left of the last turn to the summit.
