The snow depth was not a deep as I expected. We were able to drive up the road for 1.7 miles before being stopped by snow.
For a day which was to be rainy we managed to avoid the rain until about 20 minutes before returning to the cars. The snowline which fairly high so we were able to drive up the road for 1.7 miles before being stopped by the snow. From there we walked the road until it got a little slippery the put on the micro spikes which we used all the way to the lake. Interestingly the lake had standing water with ice under it. After an enjoyable lunch at the lake with did a little wandering at the lake and then headed down. When we reached the road we decide to follow the road/trail which required using our snowshoes. As the trail had been abandon we ended up doing some brush bashing in the woods before giving up and returning to the road. Some picture below:
