North Kitsap Heritage Park

Worth a day hike for sure. Great place.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • The trail was in good condition at the time of our hike.

We kicked off our hiking adventure with a scenic ride on the Edmonds Ferry to Kingston, followed by a short drive along Route 302 to the trailhead at Miller Bay Rd NE. On the way back, we made a fun detour and took the Bainbridge Ferry, which added a nice change of pace and more great views across the Sound.

The trail itself offered a pleasant mix of terrain, with options for both a shorter loop and a longer trek—something for every energy level. I had my five-year-old son with me, and he rode his bike along the trail with ease. The path was well maintained and shaded by a beautiful canopy of trees, making it perfect for a warm day.

While it’s not completely secluded—you’ll hear some traffic in spots—it felt safe, welcoming, and ideal for families with young kids looking to explore nature without going too far off the grid.
