Whitehorse Mountain/Northwest Shoulder

Did a day climb of whitehorse 4/30/16. Snow starting about 3000K but will melt out fast. Punchy snow due to temps. We were shocked to see the moat at summit already wide open. Could be passed on the very far right side, with some very sketchy climbing traversing to the center of the gully above the moat but below overhanging rocks. I am guessing that last years lack of snow is impacting this route this year, as I would assume that the moat is usually not an issue until later in the year most years.
