Winter Scramble - Fools Day Peak

A surprisingly pleasant easy winter scramble with good views in all directions from the top.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • The first three miles are on a road. The road is groomed for snow mobile use in the winter, so walking on it is easy and fast. The scramble part goes up a gentle ridge through an open forest with widely spaced trees and no brush. Again, this makes the travel easy.  The summit is open with views in all directions.  At no point along the route is the terrain steep enough to trigger potential avalanches or to require the use of an ice ax.
