10 Essentials: Questions
How did you get involved with The Mountaineers?
I began climbing around the northwest at as a teenager. After falling out of the sport in my early twenties for a few years, I found myself longing to get back out. I joined The Mountaineers and took the Basic Climbing Course to get back up to speed with climbing and haven't looked back.
What motivates you to get outside with us?
I thoroughly enjoy giving back to the climbing community through teaching and mentorship. The Mountaineers offers me the opportunity to connect with less experienced climbers and share knowledge that I have gained to help them succeed - just as others have done for me.
What's your favorite Mountaineers memory?
Almost projectile vomiting on my SIG leader (who has since become my girlfriend) in the beginning hours of our basic snow field trip. Turns out 5am Safeway sushi before climbing is a bad idea.
Who/What inspires you?
Type 2 fun: Not dying, but feeling like you're going to.
What does adventure mean to you?
Going to new places (preferably by skis) with friends, manageable challenge, and away from crowds.
Lightning Round
What's your happy place? The North Cascades, with my people.
