10 Essential Questions
How did you get involved with The Mountaineers?
Somebody suggested it when I said I wanted to learn how to paddle a sea kayak.
What motivates you to get outside with us?
Our beautiful paddler's paradise, my fellow paddlers and my nagging boat.
What's your favorite Mountaineers memory?
The photo I chose for this is my favorite picture of me and my boat. It was taken in 2009 on Ross Lake - I've got a full trip leaving to go back to Ross Lake for 5 days in less than a week...I can't wait!
Who/What inspires you?
My many, many mentors/teachers, fellow paddlers (so many AMAZING ones in the PNW!!), conversations, pictures, articles, books, films, lectures...anything that gets me to thinking, "I'd like to go THERE or do THAT".
What does adventure mean to you?
Knowing that for now, in this moment, time stands still and nothing else matters. Looking at wild creatures--above and below the water--especially when they look back without fear. New people, places and things. All of us--or just me alone--being completely independent in a wild and remote place until time catches up and we're ready to go home.
Lightning Round
Sunrise or sunset? Sunset.
Smile or game face? Smile.

Post-adventure meal of choice? Dinner party at my house!
If you could be a rock star at any outdoor activity overnight, what would it be? Concert Pianist - I would play outside!
