As we begin 2020, I am overwhelmed with gratitude to be part of The Mountaineers community. We’re ringing in the new decade with celebration and it’s all because of you!
We launched the giving season with our annual year-end appeal just before Thanksgiving and, over the last 6 weeks, we’ve filled your inboxes with stories of how philanthropy makes a difference for The Mountaineers. Our ambitious goal was to raise $95,000 in charitable contributions by the end of 2019.
Community members like you reflected on how The Mountaineers has shaped your personal story, and generously chose to make a gift in support of outdoor access, volunteers, publishing through Mountaineers Books, and conservation of our public lands.
We are humbled and grateful to share that 500 members, volunteers, and donors donated over $100,000, surpassing our goal and ensuring that influential donor-funded programs will have the resources needed to get more people outside and provide stewardship for our wild places.
I feel proud knowing that our members and donors are passionately committed to empowering a community where all people feel welcomed, and that together we work to protect our beloved public lands for generations to come. For those of you who have made a gift of financial support or volunteered your time to make this work possible, thank you!
You made so much possible in 2019. We look forward to sharing more about the impact your donations will make in 2020 and beyond.
Thank you again for contributing over $100,000 in charitable giving this season. If you missed your chance to contribute to the year-end appeal but would still like your gift to count toward this effort, feel free to give us a call at 206-521-6006 or visit mountaineers.org/yearendgift.
