The Mountaineers pioneered alpine climbing in North America. Join us on August 26 to revel in the terrible ways climbing has been portrayed in the movies ever since. The "Arc'Teryx Bad Movie Night" is the premier event you didn't know you wanted!
Join The Mountaineers and Arc'Teryx at the Seattle Clubhouse on August 26 to enjoy a perfectly terrible climbing movie. The movie of choice has been determined by YOU and will be Vertical Limit!
You need to know:
- The event is FREE! No need to RSVP, however capacity is capped at 300. To guarantee your spot visit our event link. Not a member? Sign up for a guest membership to secure your spot.
- WE WILL NOT HAVE CHAIRS. We assume you'll be bringing your tush - or something more comfortable to sit on.
- This is a BYOE event - bring everything you will want. Food, drinks (whatever you'd like, just be responsible), seats and cash if you want to buy hot dogs for sale or up your odds in the "bad raffle".
- This is probably NOT a child friendly event. The movie is PG13 and we are guessing your snarky comments will be rated R.
- Movie starts at 7:30pm but doors are at 6:30pm. Arrive early to get a good seat, stuff your face with popcorn, and participate in our bad photo booth!
- Parking is abundant and FREE at our Seattle Program Center. The movie will be held inside our main Goodman Auditorium.
- Our friends at Dante's Inferno will be on hand with hot dogs, and The Mountaineers will have complimentary popcorn for your consumption.
- We strongly encourage bad climbing outfits (or costumery of any kind really). Do your worst.
- Arc'teryx will be here with some great new products and giveaways. We'll have some bad raffle items too so bring cash if you want extra raffle tickets.
You need to bring:
Plan to BYOE (bring your own everything):
- food
- beverages
- anything to sit on: lawn chairs/beanbags/therm-a-rests/ blankies
- a fully charged cell phone to share your best heckling
- cash for hot dogs and raffle tickets
RSVP via our event listing for a guaranteed spot. Not yet a member? That's fine - sign up with a guest account for FREE to reserve your place.
