The North Cascades has just been named a finalist for the Washington State Book Awards! We couldn't be happier to have this book illuminating the stunning beauty of the North Cascades receive this recognition.
The North Cascades, published by Mountaineers Books, under the Braided River imprint, encourages those who live near and play in this mountain range to act as its stewards. This book was truly a collaborative effort - five local writers, 24 nature photographers, 20 conservation organizations, dozens of donors - and we are so grateful to have had such terrific partners to help us shape the book and to continue to share the epic story of this iconic Washington State wilderness.

Through immersive, multi-sensory experiences, museum visitors will be transported to the lowland valleys, dense forests and mountain peaks of this remarkable ecosystem - one of the most intact wildlands in the U.S. - located just a few hours from Seattle.
