Based on feedback received from members, volunteers, guests, board directors, officers, and staff, the Board of Directors approved revisions of several existing Board Policies throughout 2019. These views were balanced with the views of all other members, the governing documents, mission, and strategic plan of The Mountaineers, and state and federal laws. These policies have been updated with our new logo and consistent formatting, and to assign policy holders.
Organizational changes, staff title changes and responsibilities, and current practices drove the need to update these policies.
The Board Policies revised in 2019 all have:
- The new Mountaineers logo
- Consistent font/formatting
- Assigned "Policy Owners" who, together with the Governance Committee, are responsible for policy housekeeping going forward.
Of course we’d be thrilled if you read all of the Board Policies, but if you only have a little time, we’d recommend bringing your attention to:
- Board Policy - Accident Reporting 2019
- Board Policy - Activities 2019
- Board Policy - Member Privacy 2019
- Board Policy - Mountaineers Activity Standards 2019
- Board Policy - Mountaineers Standards of Participant Conduct 2019
- Board Policy - Participation in Mountaineers' Activities 2019
- Board Policy - Prohibited Behavior Investigation 2019
Policy maintenance is an important part of any organization, and we do our best to make sure our policies reflect the current practices within The Mountaineers. To that end, be aware of other recent policy changes:
