Earthquake in Nepal

At The Mountaineers, we are grieving for those affected by the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Nepal. Thousands of lives have been lost, many more are injured without access to basic essentials, and local communities have been completely destroyed.

The tragedy is unfolding thousands of miles away, but still hits close to home. Anyone who has visited this special region, or knows what it is to experience grandeur and solace in a place of such great beauty, understands the magnitude of this event. Our community has a strong history of supporting our friends through tragedy – now it’s time to rally again.

A number of partner organizations need relief funds to support their immediate and on-the-ground aid efforts. Each organization we recommend is currently providing lifesaving relief and using your donations to directly support survivors of the earthquake and gather resources needed to rebuild affected communities. These include Mercy Corps, UNICEF, International Medical Corps, and the 7 Summits Foundation.

You’ve asked how you can help and now is the time to act. Please join me in making a gift. With your support we can help these organizations provide an immediate response to the heartbreaking disaster.

At this time we are unaware of any Mountaineers members in affected areas. For updates as they unfold, follow us on Facebook, Twitter, or in our Blog.
