Meet Becky, a Foothills hike and urban walk leader, Key Instructor, Key Leader, and Super Volunteer who is passionate about helping others get outside to discover the wonders of nature.

Becky is a life-long and fourth-generation resident of the Coast Salish, Duwamish, and Suquamish unceded tribal lands which are called Lynnwood, Seattle, and Kirkland today. She is passionate about getting herself and others outside to discover and soak up the wonders all around us.

Becky joined The Mountaineers to connect with other like-minded people and became a leader to continue fulfilling and sharing her passion for the outdoors and mother nature. She loves the Mountaineers and all she has become from being part of this wonderful group of backpackers, hikers, snowshoers, naturalists, photographers, and urban walkers. Becky has really enjoyed leading naturalist hikes with others who love lingering to take in the beauty of it all.

A few of her favorite activities in this beautiful state include: spending time at the beach during low tides and after storms to explore what has moved from sea to shore, grabbing her camera to get a lucky shot of birds or using her macro lens to view the reflections in water droplets on moss fronds, and (last but not least) backpacking to leave all the business and "stuff" of her daily life behind and to simply be in, with, and of nature.

Becky is an EcoTherapist or nature-based therapist by day, getting her clients outside and helping them process all the things with nature as a co-therapist. She uses art, writing, the five senses, dance/movement, embodiment, photography, collage, expression, and so much more to help people learn, heal, regulate, and resource themselves so when they do have free time, they can truly enjoy it. All types of therapy Becky uses in her work are informed by nature, the wild, and the metaphor and symbolism of it all. Becky believes we are just another creature on this planet, wanting to survive and live in harmony.
