Lori joined The Mountaineers in 2016 and has been serving as Foothills Branch Secretary and Communications Chair since 2019. As Secretary, Lori is the custodian of all Branch records. She also prepares and distributes agendas and minutes for Branch Council meetings, and serves as the Branch liaison with Mountaineers staff for annual elections.

As Communications Chair, Lori publishes the monthly Foothills Brach newsletter, maintains the branch website, helps develop branch-related blogs and content for The Mountaineers magazine, and posts branch news to social media. She also helps branch members develop communication strategies for new courses and activities. Anyone who enjoys social media and/or writing is invited to join the Communications Committee. In addition to her roles as Branch Secretary and Communications Committee Chair, Lori is also a hike and urban walk leader and a member of the Foothills Hiking, Backpacking, and Urban Walking Executive Committee. She is an administrator for both the GoHike and Staying Found courses. Lori is a certified yoga instructor and has been teaching yoga for over twenty years. She led the Foothills Yoga for Hikers, Backpackers, and Trail Runners course. More recently, Lori became a certified Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Guide, bringing elements of mindfulness into each Mountaineers activity she leads.

Lori grew up in New Jersey but spent much of her adult life in Indianapolis, where she worked as a Clinical Research Scientist for Eli Lilly and Company. Lori moved to Issaquah in 2015. Since then, she spends as much time as she can hiking and running along the beautiful trails in Washington State.
