Today and tomorrow mark a celebration of community and generosity across the Pacific Northwest. Will you join us and GiveBIG to get more people outside?
This grassroots giving event helps cultivate and celebrate the kind of Washington that we believe is possible. If equitable access to outdoor education and the conservation of our natural world are priorities for you, we hope you’ll include The Mountaineers in your GiveBIG donations.
Contributions of all sizes add up to a big impact, and we need your help to unlock a special challenge. When 100 people make a GiveBIG donation of $25 or more, you’ll open up an additional $10,000 investment supporting the mission and vision of The Mountaineers.
Your donation today is an investment in:
- Scholarships for youth and adults to access outdoor education
- A gear library that lends gear and equipment to individuals, families, and community organizations
- Mountain Workshops, activity-focused programs for youth who may not otherwise have access to outdoor recreation
- Leadership development opportunities for 3,000+ volunteer leaders to develop skills in group facilitation, risk management, and emotional safety in the outdoors
- Conservation education for thousands of members, activity participants, and event attendees to reduce our impact on our natural world
- Conservation advocacy to support policies that protect and preserve our natural world and the outdoor experience
- Books that educate and inspire outdoor enthusiasts and conservationists
If you’d like to do more, here are ways you can give back right now.
Grab your calendar and schedule a day of stewardship.
The Olympia Branch has invited all Mountaineers members to join in their annual Stewardship Challenge by helping preserve and restore the lands where we recreate. No experience is necessary to make a difference, and your efforts can earn you your Stewardship Badge.
Take action in support of America’s Outdoor Recreation Act.
This act will help protect outdoor recreation, expand access, create new parks, designate new bike trails, protect bolted climbing, and help land managers collect visitor data that shapes how public lands are protected for years to come. We are especially excited to support permit system improvements that will reduce barriers for people to experience the outdoors through Mountaineers courses and youth programs. This bill was recently reintroduced in Congress and your personalized letter will help demonstrate support.
The Mountaineers® is a 501(c)(3) organization supported through earned revenue and elevated through charitable contributions. Donations strengthen our outdoors community through volunteer recognition, leadership development, need-based scholarships, conservation and advocacy work, nonprofit outdoor publishing, youth programs, and more.
