For over 100 years, The Mountaineers has enriched the outdoor community by helping thousands of people to explore, conserve, learn about, and enjoy the lands and waters of the Pacific Northwest and beyond. We take pride in that legacy, and we we want to support our volunteer leaders who make it all happen!
In July 2022, we launched the new Foundations of Leadership and Foundations of Instruction eLearning courses to meet the needs of our current and aspiring volunteers. We are excited to offer an in-person version of these two courses to support multiple learning styles and to provide a time for leader collaboration and community building. This in-person course will replace the Leadership Conference for 2022. We hope that you can join us for a fun and engaging day of leadership development!
The in-person Foundations of Leadership and Instruction courses engage an expanded audience of current and aspiring volunteers. Similar to past events like the Leadership Conference, this in-person offering will be a full day of collaboration and learning across branches. Previous Leadership Conferences brought in outdoor professionals from partner organizations to present a series of interactive sessions. This year, we are excited to lean on seasoned leaders from our very own Mountaineers community for this event to explore the many facets of leadership. The in-person course will meet the same learning objectives/outcomes as the eLearning course, but presenters will bring their own spin to the content. The in-person event is a great alternative or supplement to the eLearning courses.
