Join The Mountaineers for a screening of The Last Mountain, which tells the unforgettable story of climber Tom Ballard, 30, who disappeared on Nanga Parbat in 2019 – 24 years after his mother, legendary alpinist Alison Hargreaves, famously perished on K2.
Follow Kate Ballard as she travels to Nanga Parbat to grieve the loss of her brother and understand the circumstances around his death. Using archival footage from the year of Alison's death and Tom's extraordinary personal footage, the film explores what made Tom continue his ascent with Italian climber Daniele Nardi after two other members of the expedition turned back.
Combining years of intimate, unseen family archives with footage of the family shot in the years since Alison’s passing, the documentary tells the bittersweet story of a family who lived and died on the very edge of what was possible.
