Meet Our Parks | Your Adventure's Caitlin O'Brien. Together with her brother Colin O'Brien, she will climb the Grand in Grand Teton National Park in under 24 hours, all in support of The Mountaineers Youth Programs.
HER ADVENTURE
Caitlin's brother, Colin, introduced her to climbing 4 years ago, and she been hooked ever since. "He dragged me along on trips to Exit 38 and 32, and took me to Index to watch me flail the first few times," she said. "Though I was a newbie, he took me up the North Ridge of Mt. Stuart and we summited in under 24 hours." On August 12-18, Caitlin and Colin are teaming up again to climb the Grand in Grand Teton National Park in under 24 hours and will raise $1,000 in support of The Mountaineers youth programs.
WHY IT MATTERS
When she was a kid, Caitlin's parents used to take her on back country canoe trips each summer. "I looked forward to those 10 days in the back country, and getting to spend that time with my family. Now as an adult, the outdoors is my safe haven," she says. Caitlin wants to give youth the opportunity to get outside, and be excited to take care of our wild places.
