Meet Regina Robinson, your branch email editor for the last two years. When she was recruited into the position, she thought, “No way, I don’t know how to do that!” She eventually agreed after some gentle persuasion and stated, “Okay, I will give it a try." She hasn’t looked back. She promises to keep doing it, "for as long as we will have her."
Regina is an avid photographer, hiker, backpacker, and hugger of trees. She loves swing dancing and gardening, and I hear that she makes a mean pico de gallo to go with the "best tacos ever." She also love to give back to the community. Not only does she feed the homeless, but she brings her passion for the outdoors by participating in many stewardship and conservation projects.
She continues to work on improving the monthly enewsletter, adding the "Did You Know" section to describe interesting routes and trails. She works closely with Peter Dunau at the Program Center to send out the monthly publication and has recently learned that the "Did You Know" section is being used as a blog. She is known around the Program Center as an author and a blogger, something she’d never thought she’d be.
Regina would like to encourage activity chairs to submit information for the email, and for all participants in activities to invite a friend to join the Olympia Mountaineers on their next adventure. "If we want people to be involved in our community, we need to share what we have to offer," she said. Regina wants people to be excited about Oly Mountaineers activities and events, and you can help grow our community with your submissions!
Submission deadlines for the Olympia email are the 15th of each month. Submit to Eblastolymountaineers@gmail.com.
