10 ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS:

WHAT FIRST BROUGHT YOU TO THE MOUNTAINEERS?

I worked and lived on the East Coast for four years. During that time, my wife lived in Yelm, WA and was a member of The Mountaineers.  She often talked to me about all her fun experiences with the organization.  So, once I retired and moved to Yelm, one of the first things I did was join The Mountaineers.  I am glad I did that.  It has been fun.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE MOUNTAINEERS MEMORY?

When you get together with people who love the outdoors and are passionate for nature and the environment, almost every occasion is a memorable one.  I am in awe at the level of commitment that hike leaders demonstrate.  They are exceptional people and I feel energized any time I have a chance to spend time with them.  Every opportunity is an educational and memorable one.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO DONATE TO THE MOUTNAINEERS?

People and the future!  When you see the sincere love of Mountaineers members and their commitment to environmental issues to make sure future generations - our kids and grandkids - can enjoy what we are enjoying today... it is uplifting and inspiring.

What impact do you hope to have in our community through your donations?

In a small way, I wish to help with The Mountaineers mission and objectives.  I am confident they will do what's best for people and the future.  However, we have a lot of work to do when it comes to education and environmental stewardship.  There are still people out there who don't believe in global warming and its huge impact on our world and nature.
