10 ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS:
Why do you participate in Mountaineers Youth Programs?
I participate in MAC because I love the outdoors and hiking and wanted to try something new. I love how everyone there is welcoming. The people are genuinely cool and interesting.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOUNTAINEERS MEMORY?
My favorite memory so far is from the first trip I went on in Leavenworth. On the second night, we took crash pads out to stargaze. It was so pretty and cool to see so many stars when you are away from the city and lights. It was also fun to see shooting stars.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE outdoor activity and why?
My favorite outdoor activity is backpacking because I love going on hikes and seeing the views. I love the nights on a trip where you can make a fire and jump into the water if there is some nearby. Backpacking combines the two things I love: hiking and camping.
What have you learned at The Mountaineers that you have applied to other parts of your life?
In Mountaineers Youth Programs, I have learned how to be independent and rely less on other people telling me when to do things, such as homework. I also learned how to do things outside of my comfort zone. This applies to other parts of my life because I am able to try more things.
