HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED WITH THE MOUNTAINEERS?
I got involved with The Mountaineers because I was interested in backpacking but I didn't know where to start, so I did research and I came across The Mountaineers and all the classes they offer. I got a membership and registered for a backpacking course.
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO GET OUTSIDE WITH US?
The Mountaineers has made getting outside so much easier and less intimidating, from providing resources from the Gear Library to all the classes it offers, as well as having access to group trips with people who are passionate and knowledgeable about the outdoors.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MOUNTAINEERS MEMORY?
I got to go on my first backpacking trip with The Mountaineers with my mom and a group of women. It was great to finally put the skills we learned in class into practice and share the experience with my mom and other great women.
WHO/WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
The instructors and people who volunteer to lead the group trips I have been a part of. They have great stories and their knowledge is admirable. And their physical resilience to participate in challenging outdoor activities is impressive too!
WHAT DOES ADVENTURE MEAN TO YOU?
Adventure to me means putting yourself out of your comfort zone in order to experience a new place or activity that might seem intimidating at first, but that in the end will be rewarding.
