WHAT FIRST BROUGHT YOU TO THE MOUNTAINEERS?
We joined Mountaineers Youth Clubs as a family soon after moving to Seattle in 2022. I was looking for a community of like-minded families who value outdoor education and recreation. Through the club, my children and I met incredible people and formed lasting friendships.
WHY DO YOU LIKE GETTING OUTSIDE WITH US?
We love Mountaineers Youth Clubs because they offer a strong sense of community and a shared passion for the outdoors. The clubs provide opportunities for our family to explore nature, learn new skills, and engage in outdoor activities with other families who value these experiences. The friendships we've made and the supportive environment make it a place where our children can grow, connect, and enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MOUNTAINEERS MEMORY?
So many moments stand out! One recent memory that comes to mind is when I led a family hike to Lake Serene in mid-spring. The day was warm and beautiful, and the alpine lake was still partially frozen. Without hesitation, all the youth jumped into the freezing water - over and over again. Their enthusiasm was contagious and eventually I found the courage to jump in too. The seemingly impossible suddenly became the new normal. It's these moments that really highlight the spirit of adventure and community that makes The Mountaineers so unique.
WHO/WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
People of all ages who are brave enough to think outside the box.
WHAT DOES ADVENTURE MEAN TO YOU?
Adventure for me is about exploring new places, expanding my comfort zone, and embracing the thrill of the unknown.
