When Mountaineers set a goal, we give it everything we’ve got, and year-end was no exception. We needed to raise $215,000 by December 31 and you helped us surpass our year-end goal and raise over $230,000.

November and December are critical months for Mountaineers fundraising efforts as we prepare for publishing and program allocations for the upcoming year. By reaching our year-end goal, you set us up to have the best possible mission impact.

We kicked off the year-end giving season with Giving Tuesday where nearly 100 members made donations to support scholarships for youth and adults to access Mountaineers programs. We are especially grateful for the family of beloved late Mountaineer Jeff Bowman, who matched the first $20,000, ultimately infusing our scholarship fund with $55,000 for 2025.

As the sun set on 2024, the generosity from our community continued. In the last days of the year, several members pooled their donations to challenge and inspire their fellow Mountaineers to participate, matching $22,000 of year-end donations. All said and done, more than 700 members invested in the future of outdoor education and access by giving back with year-end contributions of all sizes.

Thanks in part to your support, hundreds of people will find confidence and community outdoors through our world-class publications and outdoor education programs. We are so grateful for the ways Mountaineers like you give back as donors and volunteers to advance our mission and create opportunities where everyone can experience adventure and belonging in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment to caring for our planet and empowering others to find joy and belonging in the outdoors. If you’d like to learn more about how your donations support a vibrant, outdoor community, check out our strategic plan
