We are just about done tallying our year-end donations and pleased to announce that you have helped raise more than $184,000. This includes a total of $11,000 in matched funds from two different matching challenges, made possible when members like you rose to the occasion. Thank you!
The Mountaineers is a special community. We are a trusted resource for outdoor education and a place where people connect with each other, with themselves, and with the natural world. Members like you ensure that we can be much more. You break down financial barriers for youth and adults to have meaningful outdoor experiences. You steward a legacy of hard-earned best practices in safe and sustainable recreation. You provide a platform for outdoor artists and storytellers. You equip and support leaders. You help organize the greater outdoor community to have an outsized impact in conservation advocacy.
Your donations help more people enjoy and protect our natural world, both now and in the future.
We are grateful and excited about what will be made possible this year through donations to The Mountaineers. We narrowly missed our year-end goal by just 8%, but we haven’t given up on it yet. If you believe in the value of outdoor education and conservation, your donation today will make a big difference. Make your gift by January 15 to help us reach the finish line. We are confident that our community will make up the difference in the coming months so that we can pursue our best ideas and have the biggest possible impact.
And finally, one of the big highlights for me this season was hearing from many of you about why you give back. Mountaineers staff received lovely messages from dozens of you through phone calls, mailed notes, emails, and drop-in visits at the bookstore. Your stories and dreams encourage us more than you can imagine.
I can’t wait to see what we will do together next.
