New Photography Speaker Series - Behind the Shot

We are launching a new photo presentation series to celebrate the extraordinary photography adventures our Mountaineers members have experienced around the world. We’re hosting four presentations in the next year to share photos, videos, and storytelling from the photographers among us, and we invite you to send us your stories!

Sponsored by the Seattle Photography Committee, this presentation series is about the unique and special places our members have traveled to, highlighting their photos. These presentations will discuss how to plan the photo trip, gear used, special techniques for getting particular photo shots, etc.

Each presentation should be 90-120 minutes in length, and should focus on logistics in setting up the trip (including research), the gear you took with you, and the camera settings for getting each shot presented. These talks are to inspire other photographers who may be interested in going on a similar trip, while educating them on how to go about it. You don't have to be an expert, just know enough to talk about your camera settings to help others take similar shots. Think about it as a nice balance between entertainment and instruction so that others can get good shots, too.

More Information:

• Our goal with this series is to get more members of The Mountaineers, and the outside photography community, involved in our photography community. 
• You do not need to be a Mountaineers member to present, all are welcome. As a volunteer-led organization, the presenters will be volunteering their time to help better our photography committee.
• The Mountaineers will provide a room, chairs, projector, AV, and will promote the event. 
• We expect 40-80 attendees at each event.
