Join us October 16 at the Newport Way Library at 6pm for our new Hike and Backpack Leader Seminar.
This course is a pre-requisite (along with a mentor hike/backpack and committee approval) to becoming an official hike or backpack leader for the club. This session meets the seminar requirement regardless of your branch or committee affiliation.
Also included are club hiking standards and processes, real-life leadership scenario discussions with experienced leaders, valuable resources for further learning, and demo/practice of how to enter hikes and activity reports on the club website. Past and current hike leaders as well as those interested in becoming a new leader are invited to participate. The workshop is free and open to all Mountaineers members, but please signup online so we can anticipate group size.
