Olympia Mountaineers have been sponsoring the Banff Film Festival for many years, and this spring, The Olympia Branch and the Olympia Film Society are thrilled to bring live shows back to Olympia!
Proceeds from the film festival support our outdoor courses, including the conditioning hiking series, backpacking, wilderness first aid, sea kayaking, alpine scrambling, and a full suite of climbing courses.
Tickets sell out well in advance of the showings and the lines to get into the theater usually begin forming more than an hour before doors open. For many, the evening includes a pre-show dinner with friends.
THE BANFF EXPERIENCE
The Banff Centre has reserved two blocks of films for live shows. These films were not part of the Virtual World Tour and are all new to live viewers. Gaze up at the big screen from your comfortable seat and allow yourself to be transported to exotic landscapes, remote cultures, and adrenaline-packed action sports.
Door prizes will be given away during intermission at each evening's performance. Local sponsors are Mountaineers Books and Cirque Climbing Gym.
