This is a great opportunity for those interested in joining The Mountaineers or for those looking to connect with more members. Doors open to everyone at 6:30pm. Bring the family to see what we do including climbing and scrambling, sea kayaking, skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, social & family activities, first aid, sailing, navigation, avalanche training, and more. A short introductory presentation to our different activities begins at 7pm.
At 7:45pm, Tacoma Branch members Julie Myer and Kevin Hornback will take you on their journey exploring Desolation Sound in Canada by Kayak. These two encountered everything from being awakened in the middle of the night by the sounds of whales blowing off Martin Island to the hospitality of neighbors sharing warm brownies on a rainy day. Whether you are a water enthusiast or not their presentation will be sure to get you itching to get outside.
