The Mountaineers
For GiveBIG, you helped us raise over $18,000, exceeding our $10,000 match goal. In total, we raised over $28,000, making this our most successful GiveBIG yet!
GiveBIG is always an exciting time for us at The Mountaineers and this year was no exception. Over 1,700 nonprofits participated in GiveBIG, raising over $19 million dollars to support the amazing work each do for our community. Last year, we raised just over $13,300 and this year we more than doubled it.
The funds we raised from GiveBIG will go toward advancing our efforts to educate outdoor recreationists on the importance of protecting public lands and waters, to engaging the next-generation in outdoor activities and leadership in our youth programs, and to continue to be the leading publisher of outdoor recreation books and adventure narratives like Leif Whittaker’s My Old Man and the Mountain to inspire connection to the outdoors.
GiveBIG would not have been possible without the generous support of our donors. Additional gratitude is extended to Peak Society founding members Rich and Martha Draves for providing us with a generous $10,000 1:1 match and to Mountaineers Books authors Kit DesLauriers and Leif Whittaker for their support in sharing their story and making a GiveBIG ask for us.
