Olympia Branch members: we want your BEST - photos that is! We're hosting a photo contest and we can't wait to show off your great photography skills to our community. Follow the instructions below to submit photos in one of 8 categories to win recognition and eternal bragging rights.
Who can participate?
Any member of the Olympia Branch of The Mountaineers may submit their photos.
Subject Matter
Only photos taken by active Mountaineer members may be submitted. The activity must be posted on the Mountaineers website.
Submission Categories
- Hiking and Backpacking
- Climbing and Scrambling
- Mountaineering Oriented First Aid and Conservation
- Natural World
- Wilderness Skills and Navigation
- Sea Kayaking
- Winter Travel
- Youth Activities
Recognition
1st and 2nd place in each category and an overall Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion. Winners will receive recognition on The Mountaineers’ website, at the annual banquet and in similar outlets.
HOW TO SUBMIT
Submit by email to Dee Ann Kline klinedee6@gmail.com. Ensure the subject line reads: Olympia Branch Photo Contest. Images must be submitted in JPEG format. If you wish to submit via USB or thumb drive, contact Dee Ann. Each photo must be labeled with a title, your name, general location and the submission category.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION
October 7, 2017 by 5pm
RULES OF CONTEST
Submission Limits: 10 per person total across all categories (We want your BEST). Categories: A photo may only be submitted in one category. The submitter will allow The Mountaineers to use photos in any Mountaineers publication, display or online media. Do not send photos that were entered in previous Olympia Mountaineers Photo contests. If less than 8 photos are received in more than one category, the photos will be judged in a new “Miscellaneous” category.
Judges include one Olympia Mountaineer member (not submitting photos) and 2 outside judges.
