Join us on Saturday, April 26 at Fremont Studios in Seattle for The Mountaineers Annual Gala, our signature fundraising event of the year! We've set the ambitious goal of raising $650,000 this year to support our mission and programs. In-person tickets open on January 20. Come gather with us to celebrate all that we do to Adventure with Purpose in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
The Mountaineers Annual Gala is a unique event. More than just a fundraiser, it's a chance to showcase our Adventure with Purpose mission and celebrate the wide range of activities, programs, and people that our nonprofit positively impacts in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. At the event, ticket holders can bid on silent or live auction packages featuring outdoor adventures led by our volunteer leaders, community partners, outdoor brands, and Mountaineers Books authors. A special feature of our Gala is the Tyrolean Traverse, where guests can watch in amazement as three of our Mountaineers Adventure Program students race across the ceiling of the ballroom. This unique evening is also an opportunity to be inspired by world-renowned adventurers who headline the event with a keynote address or are honored with our Adventure with Purpose Award.

We are pleased to announce that this year’s Adventure with Purpose Award honoree is world-renowned wildlife and culture photographer and conservationist, Art Wolfe. Art has worked on every continent in hundreds of locations, using his photographs to win support for conservation issues by showcasing the beauty of Earth. Hailed as “the most prolific and sensitive recorder of a rapidly vanishing natural world,” we are honored to recognize the Seattle-based photographer for his life’s work to inspire connection to and protection of the natural world, all while advancing the idea that nature is intended to be experienced, not conquered, through the celebration and respect for Indigenous cultures worldwide.
The evening will close with a keynote address by professional climber, author, and United Nations Mountain Partnerships Ambassador, Sasha DiGiulian. Sasha has been a powerhouse in the climbing world, starting her career as a World Champion and continuing to achieve over 30 first female ascents and over a dozen significant first ascents. In the summer of 2024, Sasha released the HBO documentary "Here to Climb," which documents her climbing career of pushing boundaries and redefining success on her own terms. Sasha will share about her various experiences climbing and overcoming hurdles of all kinds – from personal attacks to physical injuries.
