This summer, our Olympia Branch of The Mountaineers is offering four weeks of unique and exciting summer camp adventures. With a combination of day camps and overnight camps (both cabin and camping opportunities), we have opportunities everyone will enjoy. See what we have planned and find a week (or four!) that works for your family.
DAY ADVENTURE CAMPS:
ALL DAY CAMPS ARE FOR YOUTH AGES 6-11, MONDAY-FRIDAY From 9am-4pm AT THE OLYMPIA FRIENDS MEETING HALL.
WILDERNESS SKILLS WEEK, JUNE 22-26
This is an exciting week filled with a variety of adventures and activities that create a love for the outdoors. Throughout the week, campers will have a chance to rock climb, swim, kayak, hike, and explore. They will also learn map and compass skills, camp cooking, wilderness first aid, fire and shelter building, and so much more!
ALL THINGS NATURE WEEK, JULY 13-17
This week will be filled with fun activities and outdoor adventures that focus on learning all about nature in the Pacific Northwest. We will have days exploring the beaches, boating, swimming, and learning about fish as we catch-release in a lake. Plant identification hikes are planned too, and we will learn about creating delicious foods from plants around us. All Things Nature Week will encourage your child to appreciate and engage in nature.
OVERNIGHT ADVENTURE CAMPs:
All overnight camps are for youth aged 8-14 and are held Monday-Friday.
MT. RAINIER WEEK JULY 6-10
After a prep hike on Monday and kayaking Tuesday, we will enjoy 4 days/3 nights of camping at our Irish Cabin property near Mt. Rainier National Park. These days will be all about exploring the park and getting great views of Mt. Rainier on day hikes, plus learning how to filter water, prep meals, and loads of camp fire songs and games.
3-VOLCANO WEEK JULY 20-24
Have you been to one of our many Washington volcanoes? What about three in a single week? Our Volcano Week camp consists of 4 days/3 nights of overnight camping at the 3-Volcanoes Cabin near Packwood. We will be spending Monday and Tuesday learning proper wilderness and outdoor safety skills, and the latter part of the week hiking near Mt. Rainier, Mt. Adams, and Mt. St. Helens. We'll spend our evenings around the campfire enjoying songs, games, and hearty meals.
