The Daily Commute: Print Signed Print by Tommy Caldwell, Kevin Jorgeson, and Corey Rich
On January 14, 2015, Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson made climbing history by completing the Dawn Wall of El Capitan, what many consider to be the most difficult ascent in modern day big wall climbing. As the official photographer, Corey Rich was there alongside them to document it all.
The Daily Commute is perhaps the most iconic image to come from the climb. Caldwell and Jorgeson relied on a network of rigged ropes to move up and down the Dawn Wall of El Capitan in order to access the hardest pitches. They left their portaledge camp each afternoon as the sun dropped around the corner, using mechanical ascenders to climb the ropes and go to work on the day's climbing adventure.
After spending nineteen days on the wall and climbing 3,000 vertical feet, Caldwell and Jorgeson reached the summit of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park and completed their historic first free ascent of the Dawn Wall.
Now is your chance to take home a piece of climbing history by securing this beautiful print signed by Tommy Candwell, Kevin Jorgeson, and the photographer that captured this history-making climb, Corey Rich. As a bonus, Mountaineers Books is providing a copy of Corey Rich’s photo book, Stories Behind the Images.
Private Guided Mushroom Forage
Enjoy a full day of chanterelle mushroom hunting with Mountaineers volunteer Tom Eng! Tom is a local mushroom connoisseur and he’s excited to take you and two friends to his favorite (and top secret!) mushroom-hunting spots this fall. Scour the rich vegetation in search of some delicious chanterelle mushrooms to bring home for a hand-picked feast. Tom will teach you how to hunt these gourmet mushrooms and even cook up a couple of delicious chanterelle recipes paired with wine after the trip. All necessary equipment, including a complimentary mushroom knife, will be included - and participants must pinky swear to secrecy!
After you’re done hunting and full from your mushroom feast, enjoy your new copy of Fat of the Land from Mountaineers Books to learn about sustainable foods and our hunter-gatherer past. Reconnect with the land and savor some local treasures during your private guided mushroom forage.
