Join us on April 18th for our Tacoma Mountaineers Branch Orientation Open House and Climbing Liberty Ridge via the Grand Canyon presentation – a retrospective of exploration and discovery by Marty Babare.
Starting at 7pm, our orientation will highlight the programs and courses we offer. This will be a chance to visit with committee people in activities of interest to you. We welcome new members, prospects and friends.
At 7:45pm, watch Marty Babare’s talk Climbing Liberty Ridge via the Grand Canyon, chronicling one year out of a lifetime of meaningful engagement with life’s challenges and rewards, culminating with achieving the summit of Mt. Rainier via the classic Liberty Ridge route on his 60th birthday. Marty is well-known in the Mountaineers, and his retrospective is sure to resonate with many as they navigate the calculus of life’s risks and rewards. As a bonus, the evening’s emcee will be another well-known Tacoma Mountaineer: Bill Hecker, one of Marty’s Liberty Ridge teammates.
